Thank you for visiting us. Making music and friendships is what we’re about. In fact, that’s our motto, ‘Friendship through Song.’ We have performed many concerts and made many friends throughout New South Wales, Australia and overseas. If you’re not yet a friend of OMVC then we hope that you soon will be.
Orange Male Voice Choir (OMVC) is based in Orange, NSW Australia. We have a proud 80 year history in bringing song to Orange, the Central West Region of New South Wales and beyond. We have performed in venues as diverse as an historic Orange woolshed and the Sydney Opera House, from Gulgong’s Prince of Wales Opera House to the Royal Albert Hall in London, from Grenfell to the Great Hall of Parliament and in concerts throughout New Zealand, China, Wales, Ireland and Hong Kong. We sang at the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932 and continue today as proud ambassadors for our beautiful city of Orange. We have performed with internationally renown artists, among them Sir Harry Secombe and Julie Anthony.
Interested in joining OMVC? Thank you for showing interest in joining our choir. We always welcome new members and visitors to rehearsals and concerts. The best way to start the joining process is to come along and join in one or two of our rehearsals. You will be made very welcome. We sing in four parts but you don't need a trained voice to participate. In fact less than half our members read music. We average around forty regular singers. It's fun and we sing some great songs and make a fair racket when we see those magic letters f and especially ff. By the same token you will learn how beautiful it is to sing softly too.
