 Welcome Heejin

We are thrilled to welcome Heejin Kim from the Orange Regional Conservatorium as our new Accompanist. Heejin is an accomplished pianist who will add real excitement to the Choir's performances as it transitions to a new era. Heejin's first concert with OMVC was at Forbes in August, with her family and friends from Orange in the audience. We wish her many happy and enjoyable years with us.

OMVC celebrates 90 Years

The Choir celebrated its 90th year in 2016.

Throughout 2016 we held a series of regional concerts in smaller centres. The year culminated in a grand anniversary concert in Orange's Civic Theatre in November with several choirs, members of the Orange Brass Band and celebrated composer/musician/educator Paul Jarman all combining with OMVC for a memorable finale to the year.

In 2017 Paul Jarman returned to the City with a signature piece composed exclusively for OMVC, the beautiful "Friendship in Song". This was an important milestone in the Choir's history and Wagga City Rugby Male Choir and Orange High's Man Choir joined with us in concert to premiere the new composition at our Friendship in Song concert with Paul on 17th June at St. Mary's Church, Orange. Cantar and Jackie Shields (flute) also performed brackets in the packed concert. A DVD of the concert has been made and will be made available for purchase. Watch our homepage for details.

Paul Jarman was made an honorary member of OMVC at the concert and presented with a member's badge and a choir tie.

Farewell Bev

Our accompanist of 28 years Bev Glover bade us well at the Friendship in Song Concert and at the Pleasant Sunday Afternoon Concert at the Wesley Uniting Church on the following Sunday. Bev's contribution to the Choir has been of inestimable value. As well as a wonderful accompanist, she had been an active committee member for many years and the key person behind organisation of our major tours interstate and overseas. Beverley goes with every good wish from OMVC for her future in her native New Zealand.
