Paul Jarman
Patron

Paul Jarman is an internationally renowned musician and composer and has performed in over 35 countries. He was a member of Australia’s world music band Sirocco

​

He has written well over one hundred works including some commissioned for major events and a multitude of choirs and performers. His work has featured in the opening of the London Olympics and at a Rugby World Cup and at the White House for President Barrack Obama.

​

In 2015, OMVC met Paul at a mens choral workshop and concert in Bunbury WA.  The following year he ran a similar workshop with us in Orange, preceding a concert to celebrate our 90th Anniversary. 

​

The Choir commissioned Paul to compose our signature song, Friendship in Song, the following year and, in 2019 and 2022, he arranged songs for the Choir to accompany Eric Bogle and his band in memorable concerts in Orange and Bathurst.

​

OMVC was honored when Paul accepted our invitation to become our Patron in 2022.

Mayor Jason Hamling 
Patron

Jason was elected Mayor of Orange in December 2021.

​

Born and bred in Orange, he’s served on Orange City Council for the past 20 years, including twice as Deputy Mayor. 

​

Jason grew up in Glenroi and has spent his adult life in Orange, making a home with his wife Melissa and three boys. He had a successful career spanning 25 years as a local TV news cameraman. Now he is self-employed operating a transfer business for locals and visitors to Orange.

​

A keen sportsman, he has played in and coached numerous junior rugby teams for the Orange City Rugby Club, has been involved with Orange Bush Nippers and several other community and sporting organisations.

​

As mayor, he is committed to building a community that has facilities and spaces which promote an inclusive environment for all residents.
